Campaign Season - Blast Off with "Payt the Great"

Payton arrived home about 1 week ago to tell us that his 3rd grade class elections were coming up and that he wanted to run for the office of class representative.

We were excited and began the campaign (I, Dad, was particularly pleased to see the boy wanted to follow in his old man's foot steps and serve the better good for his Wilmeth elementary constituents).

Having "some" experience in the field and having "somewhat" successfully maneuvered the political waters of grade school elections -- I (Dad) appointed myself as CCM (Chief Campaign Manager), speech writer, and head spokesperson for the grueling campaign week that lay ahead. April (Mom) was self-appointed as Head of Transportation (pertaining to the candidate and his supplies), Moral Support Lead, and Head of Speech Delivery (she insisted that he memorize his speech).

Friday the 12th was speech and voting day...so in addition to the exclusive use of the color 'red', our plan centered on a "timing" strategy to bring the fliers the day of the speech (so his constituents would remember him come voting time).

While Mom was at YW's on Wednesday night, Payton and I (Dad aka CCM) drew up our campaign slogan 'Blast off with Payt the Great' and created the posters (as seen above). Our campaing colors were red, black and white. It was a lot of fun! NOTE: the use of red is NOT coincidental, we are ALL definitely "red" in our house!
Payt's fliers were by far the best!
Thursday night we created his fliers and wrote his speech. We practiced several times and recorded it so family and friends could get a feel for this platform and agenda. [Payton asks that you kindly overlook the fact that he is rehearsing the speech in his PJ's....additionally he wishes to express that being in his PJ's should not represent a lack of ability on this part to lead the 3rd grade].

Friday morning he delivered his speech and handed out the fliers. We won't know if he won or not until Monday sometime. Win, lose, or draw we here are Campaign Headquarters are proud of Payton for doing this on his own, having the courage to stand in front of his classmates and deliver a speech, and for having the only platform that is truly electable.

There is no question in our minds that Payt's "plan" is on the 'right' side of the isle.

Bro ... Honestly, I am laughing SO HARD right now at your comments ... CCF --- You kill me! You should go into some freelance writing ... Or political spin ... pretty impressive.

And I LOVED your comments about how you were proud of Payt for quote "doing this all on his own" ... Sounds like he had a HELL of backing ... Classic!

I need a T.O.

How cute are you guys...
I think that Payton looked great in his jammies, he should consider adding that to his platform, kids can wear jammies to school- I am sure that he would win all the parental votes (do they get to vote, too? or just influence their kids?) !!
