....for all those that require face shaving at least once per day.....great post!

Check out this great blog post instructing on how to shave 'old school' with a straight edge blade. The post is very convincing toward making a blade purchase........I AM SICK OF SHAVING EVERY DAY & walking away feeling like my face & neck have been rotary sanded with 150 grit sandpaper!!!

I think I will try it, but only on mornings when I am not teaching early morning seminary. It would be near suicide to try this at 4:45 in the morning! Even the Spirit is asleep at that hour to be my guide. :-)

I love the 'old school' stuff. This post had me hooked at the picture alone.....does this reflect my reading intellect and interests?! Don't answer that, just enjoy the post!

Last Time -- Ever?!?

I am happy to announce that yesterday for the last time in my life (I think) I registered for university courses! I am scheduled to graduate from Texas A&M University with my MBA (Masters in Business Administration) in December 2009! I know I am still a little way out, but as you can tell I am VERY excited to be done with school work.

Only four more classes once spring semester is over and I will be done - forever!?!? I guess there is always the possibility of getting my DBA (Doctorate in Business Administration), but I will put that on the shelf for a while until I decide to look seriously into professing at a university. Anyhow, I know this is not one my usual blogs about the kids/family, but I wanted to share my anticipation.

..................my LONG university days/years/decades are best summed up by a line in the classic movie, Tommy Boy:

Tommy: Did you hear I finally graduated?
Richard Hayden: Yeah, and just a shade under a decade too, all right.
Tommy: You know a lot of people go to college for seven years.
Richard Hayden: I know, they're called doctors.

LOL, Classic!!!!!

Texas Fishing -- City Style!

We took the kids fishing on Friday during their spring break and they loved it! Although we didn't catch anything they really enjoyed the time and we had a few nibbles on our hooks. Yes it is neighborhood fishing, but there are bass and cat fish in these ponds........check it out.

We had a great time!

Fossil Rim Wildlife Refuge Center

We had a great time at Fossil Rim! For spring break I took a couple of vacation days and we headed to Glen Rose Texas to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. It was a lot of driving......5 hours.....but being able to feed and pet a giraffe out of the sunroof was a once in a lifetime experience!

Here are some other pictures of our day! We had a great time!

We saw all sorts of deer, zebras, wild oxen, mountain goats, rams, cheetahs, and wildebeasts. It was a great time!

Here Payton is feeding a European Red Deer:

Listen to the girls when the Zebra's startled them......funny!

Here are a few more pictures, the trip was a lot of fun! However after 9 hours in the car together we were all VERY happy to be home and have some alone time!

Everything went smooth until Ashie tripped while running and scuffed up her knee...SHE is pointing it out in the following photo.....what a "ham"!

As many of you have experiencing, the tears immediately ceased once the band-aid was applied?!?!?

Hope everyone is enjoying the great spring weather!

Dinning @ PaytAbsAshie Restaurant -- Interesting

Tonight the kids set up a restaurant in the playroom and appropriately named it PaytAbsAshie Restaurant. The lights were dimmed.....well actually completely turned off; we ate on paper plates, plastic utensils, and plastic cups; were given no napkins; and had to sit 'criss-cross-apple sauce' on the floor -- but it was PERFECT!

The menu items were:
  • Lemonade from cups with our names on them
  • Slice of bread shaped like an Easter egg
  • A roll
  • Cadbury Robin Egg(s)
  • Cheezits (although no one ordered these)
The evening was perfect until we had an incident with one of the waitresses whose name will be withheld. However suffice it to say, her name makes up the entirety of the final one-third of the restaurants name. We took our complaint to management and sad to say our complaints fell on deaf ears.....in fact we have the restaurants response on video:

Despite this unusual and odd treatment, April and I can't wait to be invited back!
